Interestingly, Urban Strike shows a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center towers in 2001 (although the method of attack differs, the game's primary villain attacks New York with a laser weapon.). In addition, an unfinished level had the terrorist laser downing a commercial flight in up state New York. This sequence was cut from the final game, due to production time and memory constraints, but an early version of the level existed in playable form during produciton.*citation needed*

Anyone ever heard of this? I wasnt aware there was a Proto of US floating around...?

Nothing there mentions a prototype of the game in development being in the hands of anyone presently. It only says "but an early version of the level existed in playable form during produciton".

I had forgotten about the WTC level, I wonder if that explains why it was left off of EA Replay for the PSP while the first two titles were included.
