Without a doubt, among all the disappointments of the 360 version of Katamari, the worst for me was the soundtrack. On the other hand, I think the soundtrack for the first game is spectacular. I'm listening to it at work right now with headphones on, and I'm still blown away by how good it is, even after 3 or 4 years of constant listening.
Anybody else really love the soundtrack to the first Katamari game?

The soundtrack to all 4 games are awesome. The Me & My Katamari is by far the weakest, when you compare what music is in game (Katamari Damacy and We <3 Katamari) and what music is on the soundtrack (other new Katmari music). I had the hardest time getting into We <3 Katamari when it first came out for some reason. Don't know why, its music is excellent.

Irreverent, at times indecipherable, infectiously catchy and undeniably tasteful.
After a few years, the soundtrack to the first game is still made of solid win.

I love the soundtrack, it may be one of my favorite game soundtracks of all time. It's only nudged out by Earthbound, and I'm sure that's partially because nostalgia plays a heavy factor.

Sorry, don't agree with you there. Beautiful Katamari's soundtrack is completely devoid of the quirky charm that the first two games are full of. I haven't played the PSP version, so I can't comment on that one.

And Lonely Rolling Star never fails to put a smile on my face...

Lies! But then again i've sunk like 75 hours into Beautiful Katamari so its possible for some engrainment. The actual song songs (not the musical montages that take up 7/16 songs are a bit bland as they have that been done before feeling) come out pretty well IMO.
Into the Sky, Sayonara Rolling Star, Bless My Stars, Boyfriend a Go-Go and Katamari Dancing are all 'Katamari feeling' songs and are quite good. 団結 is by far my favorite from Beautiful Katamari and you really can't get any more Katamari than that. I can listen to it over and over and just skip out on all the rest of the songs if I really felt like it.
