Pompton Lakes, NJ: The classic 1983 arcade game designed by Dave Theurer (who is also known for his work on Tempest and Missile Command) and released by Atari, seems to have been given the shaft on the home front. It was the first game to use filled 3D polygons and offered a truly 3D experience.

The object of the game was to move along a series of paths, avoiding obstacles on the way to the eye of "Big Brother". The primary rule in this world is you are not allowed to jump. You are able to jump, and will need to but you can't let Big Brother see you do it or your weak little himan will be immediately vaporized.

Digital Press forum members and customers are still grumbling about the treatment of this innovative game.

Store associate Mike Markowski asks "25 years later, isn't it time to get this lost gem onto a home console, whether via downloadable content, as part of a compliation, or as a bonus to an all-new update to the game?"

If you say no, you will be destroyed.

I loved this game back in the day. But crude polygons are a hard sell in an era when people are inordinately preoccupied with things like texture shading, etc. More's the pity.

I, Robot?

As long as it doesn't feature Will Smith I'm there.

But it already is on consoles - via MAME.

Great game, although it's got that odd dated mix of clever gameplay and simplicity that makes people not want to throw much money at such a game no matter how well-excecuted it is.

Let's not forget a 500 page manual, high-definition FMV and a lame ass storyline. A great game doesn't sell anymore unless it's backed by 500 tons of window-dressing. Oh well. Not my loss...

Think I enjoyed the "doodling" part more...which was not a whole lot.
