Osaka, Japan: After the seemingly innocuous news blurb about Robot Maids in Japan back in March of 2007, TMZ has recently been bombarded by emails about the "maid" robot shown in that blurb.
"WE KNOW THIS ONE. HIS NAME IS VOLTRON."
"ATTENTION EDITOR. PLEASE REMOVE PHOTO OF VOLTRON, DEFENDER OF THE UNIVERSE."
"VOLTRON HAS NOT BEEN IN COMMUNICATION WITH US FOR SOME TIME. WHERE WAS THIS PHOTO TAKEN."
Yes, all of the emails received are in capitals. Why is it that some people still can't find the caps lock key?
Further investigation suggests that this "Defender of the Universe" resigned from his post in 1986 and lives a quiet life of servitude just outside of Japan's Itami Airport in Osaka. It is believed by the locals there that Voltron can better "come and go" from this location, though sources tell us Voltron rarely goes further than the front yard to fetch the daily newspaper.
We sent reporters to Voltron's place of business but his employers refused to comment.
"He's busy cleaning hair out of the shower drain", we were told.
