Another year, another Otakon! There's a good chance I'll be there to make my third appearance in a row. Anyone locked into this yet or still deciding? We should have a DP meetup in the gaming hall at some time Friday or Saturday evening, or Sunday morning.

Still deciding. All I did last year was play in the game room (which was fun, but I wish I did more).

I'll probably go, I'm all for a meeting. Maybe if we get enough people together we can hit Edo's Sushi?

Yeah, me and my friends have Days Inn booked, so count on me being there. Me and my one friend will be in full body costumes of Potemayo and Guchuko. Catch ya there.

2600 and I will/should be there. I put in a suggestion for our panel, "10 MORE Games you Should Play" so hopefully they'll take it. I still have to book a flight since my dad's got free tickets. With gas prices, I'd much rather spend it all and fly down and be there in 45 minutes then sitting in traffic.

So, anyone else going?

So now it's about a month away. I'm good to go and will be there around 6-7ish in the morning on Friday until 3-4 PM ish on Sunday. Myself and a few friends are in the Marriot somewhere. Anyone up for a luncheon other than CAVRMH? It'd be nice to run into some other DP members too.

VACRMH,
I can't go to a sushi restaurant, hyper allergic to crustaceans via consumption or breathing in their cooking steam. :(
There is a brewery place in the mall on the harbor that I've always had a fantastic meal from, so it's a suggested place to greet, meet, and meet.

Moon Jump,
Good luck with hosting a pannel. From what I've heard it's rough to get on the list, on top of that most of us don't know what the panel selections are until the starting Friday.

Sometime Saturday sound good?

Anywhere is fine by me, would the Brewery place be DuClaw? I love that place :D

Good thing I didn't make a new post, I almost forgot about this.

We DID get the panel for 10 More Games You Should Play. The heads at Otakon said that their getting their schedule out so I'll let you know what day the panel will be.

I've got two booth spaces in the dealer room (4th year as a dealer). Same spot as last year.

I haven't been since 2006 and I really want to go back but my work schedule is rough. I'm going to try and get there though.

So when I applied for the convention, I told Otakon please do not schedule our panel on Friday morning. My friend and I are flying from New York and we'll be getting there at 10.

Well, guess what?

They scheduled the panel for Panel 1 at 11AM. We're not going to be able to make it...

I sent them an email back and posted on the official forums so I hope I get an answer back soon.

That may be the place. I saw that one of their locations in the downtown area of the harbor, but the arrow was off if it's the place. Saturday afternoon would be good, but I'd have to wait and see what they have for panels and viewing rooms on Saturday first.

Where are you at? I'd love to check it out and chances are I have in the past. You should put up a little DP decal or something.

Let us know if you go!

If anyone is in need of a room, PM me, we have a room at the Days Inn, and are looking to save some spending money.

Alright, so how is this for an idea. Can everyone who is planning to go get to DP Friday night?

Maybe after we see the schedule we can work something out then.

Who plans on going anyways?

Schedule is up:

:::Shrugs:: But you know how things are, stuff WILL get moved around. Atleast give you an idea of what to do. I want to hit up the Fan Panel of Nihon Falcom. Mmmm Falcom.

Edit: Yeah, they don't even have Moon Jump's correct panel time up, so meh.

Edit:Edit: Even better for figuring it out, here is a PDF of the grid: http://www.otakon.com/pdf/otakon-8.5x11-schedule.pdf

The way the schedule is set up this year is horrible. I go to find my panel and it's listed as Saturday, not Friday night.

I love how the first time they gave me was at 11am on Friday and the ONE guest I wanted to see is having their ONLY panel Friday at 11am..

Hopefully I can make it to the panel and the line won't be too out of control. I'm landing at 7:30 Friday morning and I'm going to be taking a taxi from the airport right to the convention center. If I have to go to the panel with all of my luggage, then so be it.

My friend Gerard just got a new job and he won't be joining me for the panel, so it's just going to be me. I also have to put the entire thing onto VHS because his computer got messed up during the newest Windows VISTA upgrade, so I'll try to burn it to a DVD.

Once again, the panel's called 10 MORE Games You Should Play! and it's FRIDAY night at 12am to 1am in Panel room one.

(I also like how I have the ONLY NON Hentai panel that's going on that late)

Hmm, maybe a lunch won't work out for me. But saying hey in the Game Room or anywhere else would :)

I'll have a Metal Slug shirt on Friday, and an RFGeneration one on Saturday. See ya!

TooManyGames is gonna be in attendance at Otakon all day Satuday. It was too late for us to snag a booth so we're hanging out with Carlson at his Mad-Gear booth. Be sure to stop by to pick up some of his awesome imports and just BS with us for a bit. 8*)

Missed you Chuck, got to see Carlson, always a pleasure to buy some stuff from his great stock. I was going to staff another convention, but I might try to get off and come to TMG ::Grins::.

VACRMH: I didn't see you the entire convention...darn place is huge.

The Nihon Falcom panel that was fan run by some Kats at the Ancient Land of Ys message boards and a dude from Hardcore Gaming 101 was fantastic.

Really enjoyed myself this year, great happenings.

I was at the Falcom panel myself, too bad I sat a few rows back instead of up front (I was one of the first couple of people in line to get in). I didn't even get a regular disc :( I really wanted some of those goodies too.

Well then I was behind you, my friend was in an Eyesheild-21 Cosplay (Football), lol. I'll make you a copy of the disk, I ran into the guy (Tom) later on and he had an extra. I'll go out and get a stomper and see if the artist minds if I make more disks with out the "exclusive Otakon 2008" bit. Yeah, I knew what was coming, but I didn't want to steal a disks from the other Kats, when I knew where to get all of the stuff. Needless to say, I would have gotten a golden disk If I did ask for one, lol.

Oh well, I hope the guy that did get it, enjoys his freebies.

I'll contact you later, right now, I got home and realized my room needed an overhauling. Aka, I am throwing a bunch of junk out. I am a Pack Rat and it is hard for me, but eh.

Catch ya,
-Jeremy

There were a lot of panel tossings this year. 4 panels and 1 video showings I was going to were cut off when I was arriving early too. The Media Blasters panel was interesting but it's a shame GaoGaiGar Final may not see a release here; I need to pick up Season 2 soon. Garren Lagann looked bad ass, watched the showings of it. Also the opening of Hellsing premier was one major highlight.

Fell asleep before the 10 Games panel, sorry Moon Jump. Our crew hit the bed at 11:30 PM on Thursday, woke up at 2 AM and went forth from there. I went last year and if you can pull it off next year I'll try and wing it in there.

One of my old BBS buddies ran the Nihon Falcom panel, Tom Lipshultz (the partial albino one). I even randomly bumped into him in a some random walkway. 8*)

Yep, same Tom, stand up guy as I am sure you know. He convinced me in to joining his forums over at the ALoYs though is enthusiasm and love for the company. The board is also full of a bunch of cool people, so I am happy I joined.
