As much as I want it to be good, it looks like it's going to suck. :-/

EDIT: Maybe an April Fool's joke?

Big fat April Fools. Look at the release date people. And besides, Gannon looks like an ape.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the Smash Bros movie more:

I always wonder where there the money/time comes from to make stuff like that. I mean, it's a joke, but it's done halfway decently. Some of the CG elements were obviously half-assed, but in all it had to of still cost a decent amount of money to make something that is basically worthless.

You know what makes this so believable? It's good enough to feel like a real trailer. But more importantly...it's bad enough to feel like a real video game movie.

Good joke :) That trailer gave me shivers a little bit... Zelda would make a great movie. Link needs to be much younger, though ;)

This is a great bit for the first of April. It's worlds better than that VCS World of Warcraft game.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Oh man. I mean, I knew it would be an April Fool's joke before I even watched the trailer. That much is obvious. They put a lot of work into it though, and I can respect that. It's so campy. It's quite horrendous. In a good way... sort of.

The trailer was good I suppose, but the actors really didn't fit the part (well it's not a hollywood movie so they have to go with what they've got). I knew it was april fool's but at least that would have given it out. And the man with Link and mixing that up with OoT.

you know, I gotta say they almost had me, but the longer I thought about it, I kinda knew it was an April fools joke. I'd say they probably got people on that. IGN also did a top ten worst SNES games for April fools too. Some of the games on the list being mario rpg, chrono trigger etc.

At first it looked really good but then later on you could tell it wasn't real. Did anyone recognize if they pulled any of the scenes from other movies? I know that's pretty common for this sort of thing. Or was it all original?

Awesome. Best April Fools of the year! Pity it is an April Fools' prank, as that does look really impressive.

I can't believe anyone thought that was real.

It was all original:

"the team at Rainfall Films put together a pretty convincing spot. It beats the pants off anything Uwe Boll has ever attached his name to...and we apologize to Rainfall Films for that unnecessary comparison.

The team at Rainfall Films, which consisted of nearly 20 members at its peak, spent about three months working on the Zelda trailer April Fool's prank for IGN. The spot was directed by Sam Balcomb, who also worked on the majority of the visual effects by himself, at home, and on a Mac, we might add. (Sorry, Avid. Yay, Final Cut Pro!) 'Taking some time out of my evenings to work on the Zelda trailer was a hell of a lot cheaper than getting Digital Domain involved,' says Balcomb.

For Balcomb and team, the Zelda trailer was not just another job, but a work of passion, as many of the contributors are avid gamers and grew up playing Link's adventures."
