So I got my band together and we recorded a remix to one of our favorite Super Mario Bros tunes. It's the end theme on Super Mario 3.

That link leads you to a little music video I put together for the remix we made.

This song always gives me a major nostalgia rush... something about all the emotion thats built up by the time you beat the game, that song is like a breath of fresh air.

I'm going to bump this thread... I changed it's title to better reflect it's content. Maybe it will fare better now.

It's certainly a good remix, but I've never beaten Mario 3. So really, I'm not the best to ask for criticism, be it positive or negative. But keep up the work. At the very least, it sounds nice.

Thanks! I play rhythm guitar and lead vocals for the band. I also write the majority of the songs.

This particular remix uses mostly keyboard layers, but there are some live instruments in the mix, including acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and electric bass.


It's certainly a good remix, but I've never beaten Mario 3. So really, I'm not the best to ask for criticism, be it positive or negative. But keep up the work. At the very least, it sounds nice.

Not bad... Not spectacular, but really not bad at all. And the gameplay vid had some l33t skills as well.

Someday I will figure out how to remix.

Being a SMB fan, and a fellow musician.. that was pretty good. nice work!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback. We had a lot of fun making it. Took a long time to figure out some of the keyboard parts, but once we had it we knew it was gonna work.
