I'm almost done putting together my MAME cabinet and until last night, I didn't pay much attention to the control panel. Last night when I started to rebuild the joysticks and buttons, I realized that the panel is made out of metal so drilling holes into it is not an easy solution. (It's from Ninja Gaiden.) In time, I will either get a new panel or make my own so that I can put more buttons on.
However, in the meantime, I want to know what are people's favorite arcade games that one can play with an 8-way joystick and 2 buttons or less...
Thanks,
Todd

Rush'N Attack is mine. There's nothing like parachuting into Soviet territory and stabbing Communists in the shins with a knife! 8-)

Too many to mention, but on the recent side of thing, there's Mars Matrix which in the arcade is one button and one stick. Better game that way, I think.
BTW, post some pics when you get this thing done!

Keep the recommendations coming!!!
The Ipac was delivered this morning so I am hoping to have this cabinet completed by Tuesday or Wednesday.
Unlike many MAME cabinets that people have made, mine is quite ugly (because I am cheap). I picked up a gutted Dragons Lair cabinet that was converted into a Ninja Gaiden sometime ago. With it, I received the control panel, an assortment of old joysticks and buttons, marquee, glass, coin box, and other various parts. Besides giving it a quick scrub down, I have done nothing to make this cabinet look good. Hopefully, I will clean it up and add stuff to it in the near future.
Overall, this was a fairly inexpensive project:
Ipac = $40 + shipping for Ultimarc
Cabinet & various parts = $20 from Patrick
P2 computer = Free from work
20" monitor = Free from work
As soon as it is up and running, I will post some pictures...

I have a question.
Does it have two sticks and two sets of buttons? I'm assuming that's the case.

Yep... Hmmm, so I'm assuming that will also let me play the 2 joystick games as well...
