i bought an amiga cd 32 a few months back i powered it on once to make sure it worked .. and it did ... i finally got a game to play and it was making a noise
i noticed the green light was on and i smelled something burning .. it was the power supply so i unplugged it ... i dont know why it did .. i live in the usa and bought this from a shop in hong kong ,, the specs on the power supply are as follow
input : 120 v ~ 60hz 450mA
output is 5v---2.2 A
12v----500mA

if the power supply smelled like burning you probably didnt kill the system, just the power supply.. have you got access to another power supply to test with?
have you got any electronics knowledge? how to use a multimeter etc?

it will be somewhat tough, there are people out there who can modify pc atx power supply and having it working on your cd-32.
stock cd-32 power supply weren't available separately thus it will be quite find one unless somebody's system is dead and he'll have a spare.
good luck, cd-32 is a fantastic system.

The CD32s sold by Chinese sellers are the ones seized by the Philliphine government in 1994 for Commodore's non-payment of bills. They are NTSC systems so no step-down transformer is needed - they were intended for the US market. You could probably make an adapter from a standard Amiga 500/600/1200 power supply to get it to work or do what was suggested, get an ATX adapter.
Here's a walkthrough on how to make one very easily:

do you get the cd32 intro screen? the console should come up with something even if theres no disc in..
and just out of interest.. what games make the cd32 great?
