Basically I have two PS2 Guitars for Guitar Hero and I really don't want to buy anymore for the 360 in which I plan on buying the future iterations of the game. Will a bacis PS2 to USB connection work for the 360? Also does anyone know if the PS3 version of GH 3 can use the PS2 controllers with the adapter. If that's the case then I may have to wait until I get a PS3.

You cannot use the PS2 guitars on the PS3. And the Xbox 360 ones wont work on the PS2 or PS3. You have to buy xtra guitars, That is what I did. I bought the GHII bundle for the 360 and that guitar works on GHIII and Rock Band for the 360

You need the XFPS Sniper V3 -- there's details at http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/zz-36-xfpsv3. Unfortunately, the adapter is pretty expensive (about $80-100).

Damn! Screw that. Luckily Guitar Hero jumped the shark with GH 80's. It's pretty much reached DDR status.

I'd wait until a GH game comes out that you want and then get the bundle, as the new wireless Les Paul is the nicest GH guitar yet, plus it works with the 360 Rock Band.

Agreed on the Les Paul. It's a beautiful evolution of both design and functionality in a GH Guitar.

Not agreed on GH jumping the shark with Rocks The 80's...that was basically left-over code from Harmonix that Activision decided to cash in on, and shouldn't really be judged as a full entry (even though they priced it as such).

GH III is a proper sequel ... if anything it looks like GH Aerosmith has the potential to be another "Rocks The 80's" ...

... and with the MASSIVE amount of DLC that Rock Band is providing ... the GH series kind of falls by the wayside just in terms of being repetitious.

Still, GH 80's gets a bad rap ... and GH III and the Les Paul are great stuff.
