I just recently rebought a PS2 and have no more use for my 360. I bought the darn thing to play with folks back home, but the lag is so bad here in Korea that it's pretty useless for that, and therefore useless to me. My problem is that I've spent over $100 on XBLA titles. Is there any way I can sell the games but remove my gamercard from the system?

Nope. :(

I think I read that the games are tied more to your gamercard than to the system. Still, there's limits on transfers and such.

If you sell it, you're not going to be able to play those games anymore. You'll most likely get about $100 for a trade-in, or a bit more if you sell it yourself. Used 360s with the 20gb drive can be had for under $200 on eBay.

Unless you're hurting for money, it would probably be in your best interest to keep it. If you sold it, you'd be losing the difference of what you originally paid, plus $100 in games, which I don't think add value to a system. I could be wrong, but I would think long and hard about selling something that you put money into online. (not sure if it stores credit cards used online)

i bought a ton my first 360. then i kept the games on there and removed my gamertag from the 360. somehow the games still worked.

then when i got my new 360 elite, i got on that one, then i could redownload all the older games for free(just like a redownload).

both systems had the games on them working, sold the old one, listing them with those games, and the guy never has complained or anything so i guess they still work.

It might be that the gamertag becomes the key to redownloading, not to keeping the games themselves.

This thread if full of bad information.

A little clarity...

1.) There is no way to sell your downloaded XBLA titles.

2.) You never "loose" the games you paid for. As long as you are logged on to XBL you will be able to play the full versions of the games you bought.

3.) Offline, full versions of XBLA games are tied directly to the console, not the gamertag.

4.) If you get another 360 in the future, you can call MS and have all the games assigned to the new 360...free of charge (not free of hassle unfortunately).

5.) Microsoft's DRM is purposely convoluted for a specific reason. Don't plan on ever getting access to those XBLA titles once the "Xbox 720" comes out in two years. MS is certainly planning on "double dipping" consumers. You will have to pay (again) for games that will be nothing more than enhanced or special editions of what you already have on XBLA. I'm calling it now.

I doubt many people are expecting their current XBLA titles to transfer over to the 360's successor, so its not exactly a risky call or have anything to do with MS's DRM that makes DLC a pain on the 360 if you have a console failure.

Really? I assume you're on the design team for Xbox.next? Otherwise I hope you have some articles to backup this ridiculous claim...

Oh, someone forgot to tell you. I can predict the future.

With that in mind you can continue to be in denial or not. It doesn't matter to me either way. We'll both see how "ridiculous" it is in two short years. I would love to be wrong on this one.

talk about bad information... thats a plethora of biased theory and unsubstantiated rumors.

i say you keep it. unless as was pointed out youre really hurting for money. arent there ANY games that are out or coming out that interest you? mass effect? gears of war? gta4? the two atlus (or was it NIS?) SRPGs that are coming soon?

I'd just keep the downloaded games on my Gamertag until the final less faulty 360 comes out and then rebuy a 360. Patience...it will happen.

LOL we can all dream I guess, although I've never experienced a problem with my unit.

Yeah, I haven't experienced any problems with the one I have now, but I only play it for five minutes at a time with it plugged into a power strip in a well-ventilated area while balancing it steady on my head.

Obviously, I don't use the 360 as much as I'd like.
