Mr Nutz 2 (Genesis)

Hi Guys,

For my first contribution I would like to talk about a game that was supposed to exist (only) based on a german review... But that game was never released... Now there is some proofs!

Mr Nutz was published by Ocean on Genesis and Super Nintendo. A game Called Mr Nutz Hoppin Mad was published on Amiga by Ocean but developped by Neon (a german company, you get the german connection). Rumor said that the Amiga game was supposed to be adapted on Genesis... But the game was never released... It turns out that the game really exist :

The screenshots were actually provided by Peter Thierolf, a former member of Neon... Here is the copy of the email he sent:


Hi XXXXX,

Thank you very much!

Yes, I can definitely confirm that Neon has created a game Mr Nutz
Hoppin Mad 2 for the Genesis.
The game was completely finished, but not released due to the decay of
the Genesis market.
As a proof to your friends I just created some exclusive screen shots of
the game running in gens on windows and have attached them to this mail.

That's it... Maybe the rom will be released soon... Maybe not...

He also mentioned (in an email) that he couldn't release it because of copyrights.

Okay... I was expecting that... If my memory is not too bad, it seems to me that Peter was one of the person that created Neon... So, of course, he can potentially release a "Neon games" if he wants... But the copyright of "Mr Nutz" as a character (at least) are owned by Ocean... In fact they are now owned by Infogrames...

I guess it can be possible to get the game but it may turn out being very complicate... It may required to get authorization from a lot of people...
