I am interesting in playing Shikigami no Shiro 3 and Smash Court Tennis 3 for the 360. As far as I know, neither game is going to be released in the States. So I would like to know if there is any way for these games to be played on US Xbox 360 console. I know the games are region locked and are playable only on the JPN/Asian console. Is there some type of disc like those for the Dreamcast, Gamecube and Wii that will let the user bypass the region lock on the games, so that you can play them on other region's consoles? Thanks.

Shikigami III is coming out on the wii later this month (tohugh if you dont have one guess that wont really help)

and i've never heard of any simple disc that will get you around region locks on the 360

even modding the drive firmware doesn't bypass the region check. Only way to play locked japanese games is on a japanese console.

Are the Asian versions region-free? I thought they were.

I don't know if Asian versions of these two games exist yet...

I wanted to play the new Raiden game for the 360 as well, but sadly its not playable in the states.. I was wondering there was a way around this, without trashing my system or voiding the warrenty.

No, there is not. The only way is to buy a Japanese or Asia Region system. You can get them from play-asia for around 300 bucks. You can take your US HDD and use you gametag/profile on it as well. I'm just waiting for my system to arrive, I already have the games. Raiden BTW has two discs, I'm not sure what the 2nd disc is.

Pisses me off to no end, since Onechanbara is region locked (even in it's platinum release!), and still has yet to be approved for US release. /rage

Only if said title is region free. Play-Asia has a pretty good list.

Thanks to everyone for their valuable inputs...

I really wanted to play Smash Court Tennis 3, and I see it is on sale at play-asia.com, and on their site they have confirmed it is not playable on a non-Jpn or Asian console. Same goes for Shikigami 3.

I guess I will have to pass up on these two games altogether...
