I marked it "curse" but forget the title.

edit.
Ok looks like it IS just "Curse" but lacks a USA release. Anyone have a picture of a mockup box?

Yeah perhaps this was never released in the USA. That would explain why I can't find it.

I love, love, love this piece. His console display is redundant.

If it's the same game I'm thinking about, it was originally supposed to be released around the time the Genesis launched, but the company couldn't afford to stay in business, so it never made it to our shores. The company? INTV Corporation. Yep, the same one that bought the Intellivision from Mattel after the 1984 market crash and attempted in the late '80s to get into NES production with Monster Truck Rally.

Is it "Curse of the Wingless TIE Fighters"?

I have two robot toys like the one in the bottom right corner. One is the exact same color and the other one is black and they transform into a tank. Now I want to know what this is because I have had these toys since I was a kid and forgot what they were called.

Someone I knew back in the 90's had the Japanese version of this game. And the cover art was FRIGGIN CREEPY.

Awesome artwork. Too bad the game isn't that great. I stand by everything I wrote in that review.

So it was an INTV release that never made it in the USA.

Anyone have a picture of a mockup box?

INTV? No, Sega Genesis. Actually released as a Mega Drive game.

Starriors is probably what you're thinking of...

I waited and waited and waited for this game to come out over here and it never happened. Being a huge fan of shooters, I wanted this game in the like nobody's business. Years later I would eventually track down the JPN Mega Drive version. ;)

...but INTV Corp. picked it up to release it here in the US on the Genesis.

I love the expression on that dude's face. If it were me in the cockpit, I'd have that same WTF look, too.

Starriors is wrong but thanks anyways. They are the exact same robot as in the pic.

Wow. That reminds me of the Action 52 box art. Maybe it's the
"Oh my God there's a ton of crap flying at you, and none of it can be good!" vibe.

So if it was released would be one of those black boxes with the tiny squares?

INTV is the company that bought the rights to the Intellivision, not a abbreviation for the Intellivision console.

Edit - Nevermind, next time I'll finish the thread before replying. :)

it is a tri-bot from tomy, a rather hard to find line of toys from the 80s:

http://www.green-ranger.com/myspace/convertor.jpg

there were 4 differnt robots and each had a good and evil version of it
I wonder if they just plain stole the design? or was curse released by tomy or one of its little sub companies in japan?

I too purchased the Jpn Mega Drive version after the US version was cancelled. Average first gen title - could have been better. The one thing that I noticed was the low frame rate. Everything just moved slow and jerky.
