Namely, Doki Doki Panic. I DLed the ROM and something called famicon disk system BIOS or something like that, and I renamed it disksys.rom as the instructions said, and opened it in the emulator. The emulator just says loading and then battery error or some such in a neat looking screen. Has anyone played a DSF ROM successfully?

Also, I'm using a mac and tried it in NEStopia as well as RockNES.

Thanks!

I never could get any of the disk games to work on an emu. Even with the FDS bios placed where it should be, etc.
So to satisfy my curiosity I ended up purchasing the actual hardware. The FDS is a fun little system/add-on to play with. I have the Sharp Famicom Twin unit. I find it very interesting to notice the differences on the disk based games versus the cartridge versions. The sound is the most obvious improvement. And for games such as Doki Doki Panic, that were not released in any other format, there really is little other choice besides emulation, which I really don't care much for. So if you can afford to get an actual system then do so. In my personal opinion, it's well worth it.

Sounds like a bad disk image. If the FDS bios screen comes up at all, the bios image is working.

I've never had a problem getting FDS images to work in emulators unless the .fds file was bad, and even then the image didn't work when I loaded to the FDS either.
