Hard Drivin arcade

I am about to pick up a Hard Drivin sitdown arcade machine for $100, the guy said the steering is backwards and just started happening. You turn left it goes right and visa versa. Any ideas what I am up against?

If it's a hardware issue I think you can just recalibrate the steering wheel backwards. I know it's a lazy way of fixing it but it should work fine.

OK, I got more into it, the start of the game the steering wheel turns all the way to the right, and when I press on the gas it just does donuts towards the right no matter which way I try to turn the wheel. Any ideas now? I don't have any steering wheel control at all.

I have been doing more and more research, could it be the turn pot?
