WHO: Mario, everyone's favorite Italian plumber, and excited (and grateful) New York City commuters

WHAT: Mario treats unsuspecting New Yorkers to a free taxi cab ride. Mario is in New York City to promote Mario Kart Wii, the upcoming new Nintendo racing game that features Mario and all of his Mushroom Kingdom buddies. He's helping commuters race through the city before they get racing with Mario Kart Wii.

WHEN: Thursday, April 24, 2008, 8-10 a.m. and 12-2 p.m.

WHERE: Sheraton Hotel, 811 7th Ave., New York, NY (between W. 52nd St. and W. 53rd St.)

WHY: To celebrate the upcoming launch of Mario Kart Wii in the U.S.

Awesome. Taxi rides are sometimes already like a Mario Kart level...I'll probably go check it out. Why the Sheraton though?

I was expecting something bigger and more exciting, but oh well...at least Nintendo paid $10 towards a cab ride for me. Read more about it in my blog entry:

I wonder what Nintendo is planning for the Wii Fit release next month. Maybe Mario will stand outside of a gym and throw medicine balls at people walking by. :)
