I find a deal for
refurbished xbox 360, it is only $250.. (http://www.dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?deal_id=97303&ru=283)
A new 360 is $400.
Do you think it is worth to buy a refurbished one?

Prob not, Xbox sucks on repairing these consoles, I've had to send my xbox back twice so far for rrod,i've heard of people have to send theirs back more than that, you are better off to buy a new one with the new heatsinks on the motherboard to help prevent rrod.

Personally my refurb unit has been fine, I've never had any problems with it. Having said that, $250 is mighty steep. You can easily find a newer system that hasn't been reworked for that price.

my friend wants to get rid of his 360 w/ hard drive and wireless controllers because of the RROD, for 80 bucks. he'll sell the games for cash flow(i dont want to buy any of the games) for a PS3. he never wants to put up with the 360 again, his 2nd 360. All i have to do after that is put down 50 for the warranty, but im not so sure i want to put up with one rrod'ing all the time. lolool wrong forum

If the warranty seal is intact I would buy that.

Great question, but I think the Moderators may want to move this thread. Refurbished or not, an XBox 360 is not a "Classic" system.

Ya know I must be tired. I stared at this thread this morning and didn't even notice that it was in Classic.

My Sons 360 is a Gamestop refurbished xbox 360 ,bought online via the website...I think it was between 250-280.00
I actually bought it when my original 360 RROD....
It works fine ......(knock on wood)
Out of my whole 360 game library it was sluggish playing BIOSHOCK..everything else works great, online etc.
Upon signing it up online with Microsoft/serial number to register it ..for the three year RROD Free Fix Warranty crap.
It's not under the free reapair anymore,(if I would of known that I would of bought it in Gamestop in person and put a service plan on it)
I called Microsoft tech about it and they state because I'm the"second"owner of it that it's not under warranty with them anymore..
They had on file who the system belonged to before(changed to me) and I bet it had been sent in for repair before/since I guess the previous owner registered it.
They said they'd only fix it for $100.00 if it had problems..(who knows now the price)
My original 360 came back to me though it's not the same unit/different serial number but it's under a new warranty with them for free repair.

That's not true. They told me the same thing when I had a second-hand 360. I hung up, called right back and talked to someone else who set me right up. I've since done it with three other 360s. My friend actually went through this exact same thing three days ago. I told him to hang up and call back, which he did and they hooked him up.

I may be a N00b on this but the standard manufacture warranty is free for RRoD?GameStop told me since its not been 3 years since the 360 was released then i can get it repaired for free if its RRoD because its covered on the manufacturer's warranty, and my friends 360 has never been registered/sent in. So are they right?

If its been referbished once...well it will break again and it will be ReRefurbished. I hate refurbished systems. Fuck Gates! Just get an SMS! :) Im glad my 360 is working just fine.

Systems that haven't been refurbished are under the three year warranty, but if it has been worked on then the warranty changes. You'll have to go to xbox.com and check your warranty status to find out what the new end date is.
