After the most difficult few months of my life, my store is just about ready to open. And it will open this Tuesday, May 6th. The address is 3264 1/2 N Clark St in Chicago. Just half a mile south of Wrigley Field. For all the members of DP nearby or visiting from other areas, I hope you will stop by sometime. This store has just what you like, everything from Atari and up. Well, not really everything...I do not have any of the newest generation. So, everything up to PS2, GC, Xbox, DS, PSP I suppose. Depending on trade ins for Wii, 360 and PS3. And I will be giving out free gifts randomly throughout the first month.

Besides selling and buying games & systems, I will also offer disc repair and eventually, system repair. You can test out a game before purchasing it. You can have fun playing on the SNES and PS1 display systems.

So, I gave you a sneak peek of a few parts of the store. Please take a look.

If any of you have comments, questions or suggestions for me, I would really value your input. Please send me a PM. Thanks!

Nice, I may stop by sometime. For suggestions, I think you should get a couple arcade cabinets in there, it would be awesome if you could sell some import games, also.

Any discounts for forum members?

Just kidding. I'm going to make sure to take a trip to your store this summer. Everything here as far as classic gaming are huge Duds..

Edit: your only 44 minutes away. I've driven longer for a Game store in the past. I'll be in!

Nice location. I'll check it out when I'm in the area, which is pretty frequent during the summer.

Thanks for all the kind words. The name of the store is "People Play Games". As far as arcade cabinets, maybe in the future. I do have a small import section with many playstation and famicom games. And a few Super Fam, Gameboy, GBA and PC Engine games. Some good ones like Castlevania Dracula X for PCE and Metal Gear Solid Integral for PS1.

I have a pretty decent sized section of Turbografx games, and I am most definitely holding the largest stock of turbografx hu card sleeves than anyone. So if you need a couple thousand, please let me know.

Besides games, systems and accessories, there are also lots of manuals, strategy guides and books for sale.

So basically it's like play n trade without the modern stuff and tournaments?
If I lived in the area I'd stop by.

Well, actually I do plan on having tournaments on my 50 inch tv. I didnt go into all the details on this post, but there is more coming for sure. Modern stuff will be added as the days pass. Not just trade ins, but some new releases as well. When any of you visit my store, please be sure to introduce yourselves.

Yeah, I wish I could go. I'm dooling over the selection of turbo games you have.

I stopped in yesterday and picked up a TG16 controller extension. It's a nice store in a good location with lots of foot traffic. A lot of older stuff including games for rarer systems and some import stuff too. The prices were all reasonable too. I'll stop back in again at some point.

How far is this joint from Union Station? I live in the burbs and can't afford the gas to drive into Chicago. I'm also 2 blocks away from the train station so that also helps :)

You could ride the bus up the whole way after a short walk from the station. It's several miles. Pull it up on Google Maps for an actual distance.

Do you process phone orders for those that aren't lucky enough to visit your store? Website?

I have that SNES kiosk too. I have never seen the bottom part though. The store looks great!
