View Full Version : Point of question: Final Fantasy (non-GH) Disk Variants.

Awhile ago friends of mine brought up (in a rather condescending way) that my variant is not original because it is white (I'm not sure I have to go back to Batavia and check in my room) and the original is silver. They claim mine is just a GH volume put into an original non-GH case. I've recently decided to look into this. Yet, I have come up with nothing telling me what is to what. I've seen White in GH packaging and the other way around, and same with the Silver variant. Could someone please clear this up? Do I have the original disks or do I have GH disks?

Dunno about the NTSC releases but all my PAL original releases have white CDs (7,8,9 and Anthology) and my promos have all black CDs.

I bought my FF VII the day it came out and the discs are white. I believe original prints are white and GH is silver, but the FF VII is the only one I can recall 100% at the moment. I can check my others later.

I concur with the original FF VII discs being white as I also bought it on release day. AFAIK, any GH releases were on silver w/black print discs. I think you can safely call bullshit on your misinformed friend.

When you buy used, a lot of employees who don't know anything about games easily stick non-GH in GH cases and vice versa, I've seen it tons of times. I don't doubt they could be mixed, but, yeah, it sounds like you've got the real deal. As kaedesdisciple said, every GH for Playstation One I can even think of has the generic silver label with black printing.

Your friend just got everything reversed. Silver art = GH. It happens.

They're white.. And they say their's are silver.
