Recently i got bought myself a 32 inch samsung lcdtv. Naturally i went to try some of my older systems and they didn't look so hot. After about a week my s-video cord for my snes came in and yoshi's island never looked better. Now that i'm happy with the picture for that system, i can't help but want to get better picture out of my other older systems. What are the best outputs for these systems and is there a way through moding to get some of these to display better than they natively should?
To my knowledge the highest output without modding on my systems
snes/n64: s-video
genesis/sega cd: AV - i own a segaCDX and luckily it plays both
nes: AV
So what kind of picture do you guys get out of these systems? And what can i do to get the best picture possible on mine?

hmm..
SNES: Component
Genesis/CD/32X: Component
NES: Component (requires replacing PPU, and tapping RGB lines)
N64: S-Video
Atari 2600: S-Video (requires a lot of work)

First of all, where do I go about getting a component cable for SNES?
Also, wouldn't said cable be the same for SNES/N64/GCN? They all have the same plug...

I grab the RGB video, and make a cable with transcoding capabilities to Component video.
N64 doesn't have RGB out, and I don't think American GC has it either. SNES has it though. (atleast the early models)

Earlier models of the GC system, have a separate Digital A/V out port that does Component....Unfortunatelly. the Nintendo GC component cable is a bit expensive now a days,Nintendo didn't manufactured enough of them....
