So I bought a new NES Aladdin Deck with all six extra games new, opened the box, made sure my NES was clean, and popped her in there. Grey screen, nothing. Try again, nothing.

Eight different systems (seven toasters, one top loader) later, no success, just is not loading. Other games work fine. I even severed the lockout pin on one system, other titles still work fine, no Aladdin. Tried with two different copies of Dizzy.

One more potential clue is that it has no lockout switch, but it says V2 (version 2) on the box, and a little research concluded that it supposedly has a chip to detect the lockout. But it won't load up on anything.

I broke the plastic seal myself, pretty sure it is new, and the seller claims to have sold many decks without complaint.

Any ideas?

Did you try to disable the NIn-10 chip? Its easily done.

He said he disabled the chip on one of his systems.

Maybe you just got a bad cart?

I did disable the chip, and then tested the system on other games, and they worked fine, except of course the Aladdin Deck.

It would seem I have a defective unit, despite it being a new sealed-in-box purchase, but I have yet to find any serious details on the V2 Aladdin, and I wonder if that has something to do with it.

Anyone?
