Barring any weird unknowns, I'll be headed this year. I'm close enough, after all... bit of a drive the morning of, but I'll be doing whatever I can to make an appearance. :-D

I will definitely be there. Maybe even volunteering. Keep an eye out.

Really? No one else here is going? I was hoping more of the Retrogaming Times Monthly staff would be in attendance so we could form an RTM team for the trivia contest but alas it looks as if I'm the lone RTM writer that will be there.

Anyone here want to make a team for the trivia contest? Currently all signs point to it being held on Saturday afternoon. I know only a little pinball knowledge beyond my favorite machines but my arcade knowledge is pretty good - heck, that's what I've written about at RTM since 2004. Also finished 3rd overall in the 2005 DP MAME League.

Yeah, there are a lot that are forsale. I think every game usually has a sticker on it that either says 'not forsale' or lists a price.

I have been going to CAX every year now for a very long time. I wouldnt miss this for anything. Anyone who is remotely in to classic arcade games should go to this. I think I am going to sign up for the trivia contest too.

Indeed, now that I'm back in San Jose full time I can't wait. I'm just surprised there hasn't been an outpouring of interest in this thread.

I think I'm going to go one of the two days, but I'm not sure which one yet. I sold my Silverado a couple months back and brought a Prius, so I guess I wont be buying any arcade cabs there. My wife will be happy about that. :(

I had a blast at CAX!! There was over 300 arcade games and pinballs for me to play all set on freeplay. I had the time of my life. Here are some pics....

I'll second that. Great time. Loved playing the classics and also some of the more obscure classics that I never had the opportunity to play. Did any of you play that cool old Atari pong type game where you had 3 chances to knock the blip over the "net". Super sweet game, I want one ! The sound when the "blip" hit the paddle sent a vibration through your hand and was a real sweet experience. I know I am easily amused by the simple things, I guess. I also enjoyed playing Pooyan for the first time on a dedicated cab and also playing Tapper for the first time on a dedicated cab.

There was a great selection of pinball machines and I spent about equal time on the pins and the vids. I hope they continue to have this show :)

This highlight of the show was playing the "Ebay" Asteroids and blasting the hell out of my competition :)

Yeah, Rebound was great fun and it was cool to see one at the show, my girlfriend and I played a few rounds. I had single player high score and team high score throughout the weekend on the front Warlords cocktail. On the Galaga '88 machine I had the high score all day Saturday (471,280 at 5-27, set it early in the morning) and Sunday (467,770 at 5-27 and then improved with 582,770 at 5-28) until during the last hour and a half of the show my score fell to 1,610,900 at 5-29 (game completion bonus), nooooooo.....

Was great to hear Aaron Giles talk on Saturday evening too. Hard Drivin's Airborne was a great time as well once you got the controls down solid. I easily spent an hour playing Lunar Lander (one of my favs) and Gravitar. Some great vintage pins (namely Hit The Deck and Capt. Card) as well. I'm actually trying to purchase one of the cocktail tables from the show right now, getting the cash secured and then I need to contact the owner this weekend - we talked at the end of the show when he came to pick up the game.

I'll have my full writeup in the August issue of Retrogaming Times Monthly.
