I'm looking to buy some older systems professionally modded. Can anyone here recommend any site where i could send in a system to be modded or buy one outright?

After seeing this sega genesis modd i would love to be able to get this kind of clarity and be able to play with no lagg.

Take a look at some of my threads, you may find something related in what you are looking for.

you don't upgrade SEGA CDX systems? I also looked at your site and it mentions nothing about overclocking, which is one of the main features i would really love added to the system to eliminate lagg.

i only know of one guy that regularly offered overclocking modding as a service. as far as i know hes not modding anymore due to a new job that take4s up all his time.

dunno if ooXxXoo can do that mod for you but i can vouch for his work in general, top notch.

I guess nobody offers that then

Things i need: s-video, region free

Things that would be nice: plays sega 32x games

Also, if i decide to have my model 1 modded with the first 2, how much would it cost, and if i attach a sega cd to it, would it display that in s-video as well?

Is there perhaps an entire package for everything?

yes, if your genesis is modded to output S-video your sega cd will as well

for an idea on how far you can go i'll give you my setup as an example

genesis model 1 (no lockout feature so it runs the few US games that later gennies won't)

S-video modded
overclock switch 8, 10, 12mhz
green LED replacement
US/JP region switch
50/60 hrtz switch
"stereo" mod
cartridge slot shaved to allow for mega drive carts

combine that with my model 1 sega cd thats bios modded for US/JP/EU and i can play just about anything

now, if you wanted to go one step farther i suppose you can also have it modded to play 32X games

i always wanted to get a JVC X'eye modded for all that stuff but its probibly very expensive if anyone would even do it

wow, what you have sounds perfect, how much did that end up costing you?

well it cost me about $200 but i did it in peices so i'm confident you could get it done for less

i bought the genesis with the stereo, s-video and jp/us switch off ebay for about $70

the modded sega cd and anouther modded genny i bought from the forums here...it was about $110 for the both i think....so say $60 or $70 for the modded sega cd

then i had a diffrent guy add the 50/60 hrtz switch, LED and overclocking switches for anouther $65

if you could just grab a genny and a sega cd cheap somewhere and then have one person do all that stuff i bet it would be a good bit cheaper then what I did

ooXxXoo: you willing to add s-video and region free to my genesis? If so how much?
