Holy shit!! Using the broadband adaptor, you can link two Nintendo Gamecubes together and with two TVs you can play Mario Kart: Double Dash with eight players on two TVs!
*crosses-fingers* Please don't let the battle-levels suck as much as the N64 ones did.

"Nintendo - We Fear Change"
What? Did you expect something different from the last company to change to a CD type format? And when the did, they came up with these little midget discs that store 1/8 of the data of anyother system? Did you expect something different? It took them four years to make the GB screen better, and then four more years to make it color.
They're always behind on the times and in trends. That's why MK for the Genesis outsold the SNES version 4 to 1.

Hate to point out yet... but online play is still not anyway near mass market or profitable... Nintendo are still waiting to see if it can be for console users...

Then they shouldn't have released ANY online content :)
That was kinda my point being the last to switch to disc, but the reason they switch to minidisc, which holds about 1/2 of a DVD, was that so noone could copy their games, and it worked beautifully. Yes, the games can still be copied, but the average person who copies PS2 and xbox games can't copy Gamecube games.

yea.. I got a 39.99 Broadband Adapter that does nothing.. :( This will be the last Nintendo console I'll be buying me thinks (until it is $49.99 anyway.)
I should have used my money on an Xbox, watching my friend play PSO using voice pisses me off. Anyone want to buy a used Gamecube?

I'll take the BBA off your hands though Raedon... as it's quite likely I'll be connecting the Cube up for MK fun ;)
I'm 99% certain it'll work with a Jap machine... oh... what colour is it too?

Sounds good as my GC is black ;)
If you wanna get rid of it, then I'll probably be interested in having it :)

I can't wait for Mario Kart to come out. I loved the 64 version. It's a great multiplayer game. Since it uses the broadband adaptor it will probably be able to play online as well... Just like gamespy did with the xbox games that were only lan enabled.
Can't Wait!!! :D

This seems like a really nice idea that Nintendo had. I was too young to remember but didnt Sega or NES have some sort of octaginal controller port for its ststem...I believe it was Sega Genisis because of the advertisement on the box. Anyways, good thinkin Nintendo X_x
Happy Gaming,

It's about time someone started using the ethernet adapter for LAN play instead of just internet play. And can you imagine playing Mario Kart online with 8 players? The lag would be a total joke.

I would think there would be no lag. It's only 2 people connecting to each other. (4 per cube) I've played games that had 8 different people and only had some lag (sometimes I never would get lag)
An example that would be equal to Mario Kart is Halo. I've played with 2 or 3 different xboxes online and didn't get too much lag. (You can play over the net with Gamespy)

Well, yeah, connecting two Gamecubes wouldn't be as bad, but 8 remote players would be a nightmare.

So someone say it. Is there a way to play eight players without 2 gamecubes? Like as in is there an eight player controller adapter like the NES Satelite?

Not to my knowledge. The game is ment to be played with 2 gamecubes. 8 people on 1 tv would just be crazy... especially on my nice 13" big screen tv

So in order to do eight player mode there has to be two cubes and two copies of the game? If so do the two games talk to each other efficiently without lag? I have no idea yet. And when I first asked I guessed there would be a way to hook the one gamecube up to two tvs. Just what is this game going to be like.

As far as I know 2 cubes, 2 tvs 2 copies of mario kart. Since they are directly connected to each other there should be no lag at all. I don't know of any way to hookup 1 cube to 2 tvs though.
In my opinion the game is going to be great. IGN.com had some info on the game. You can have 2 people on a Kart now by the looks of it.

Come on, doesn't anybody remember the 8 player mode on Street Racer for PSX? Eight player craziness on one screen, baby! :-)
