It's been at least a year or so now, but the Pizza Hut in Round Lake Beach (1/2 hour from me) had a Galaga 3 arcade machine. I played it for a while when I was there and got a kick out of it. It never beat the real thing but it was still great to play, who else has one near them or played it and what are your thoughts/memories? How did it never take off like the first two did?

PS: Did this game ever make it onto anyone of Namco's arcade collections on any of the home consoles, if so, which one?

Many times under the original title Gaplus. As why it never took off, it was released in the middle of the video game crash. Namco blamed the poor sales on the name not being recognized so they created a kit that would change the title screen and cabinet art to "Galaga 3." It's part of Namco Museum 2 on the PlayStation.

I've always called it "Gaplus", as well. And I've always liked it better than the first two. It one of those games that went sadly unnoticed.

But the last time I saw one was a little mom-and-pop pizza place in Dallas, about 3 years ago.

There used to be a deli, here in Nashville, that had a dedicated Gaplus machine. But they closed down in the early 90's.

In my shed next to rest of my stored away machines. Sorry no pics. Funny thing was when I got this it had Galaga 3 on the attract screen and a Gaplus marquee. I liked Gaplus better so burned a new rom so the attract screen matched.
