Can somebody tell me the NAME of the portable famicom sold in Japan? Not the thing that attaches to the DS, something I can attach my fami games to it.
Preferably the name in kana. That way I don't have to guess how to spell it.

You mean that Pokefami?
ポケファミ
AFAIK they don't make them anymore, but I see them running around used from time to time. I highly advise you not to waste your money coz it's a piece of shit, to use a technical term. Shit cart connector, screen blur, horrid battery life.
I was excited when I bought mine, it went into the 'curio' pile within a few hours of use.

Are you talking about the FC mobile?

THIS??
This is the US NES version which is ALL over eBay at the moment, and there is a JAP Famicom version which you can still find on eBay or from online china retailers. (With correct B,A button placement I might add! :grrr: )

I live in Japan and the only carts I have are Japanese, so yes, I want the JAP version.
Unfortunately, famimobairu doesn't hit anything on google. Is the Japanese name different?

What do you mean? I just typed FC mobile (in katakana, this computer doesn't do Japanese so I can't type it myself) into Google Japan and got tons of results, including a link to Two Top's site. I should go check my Two Top downstairs and see if they have any for demo, as I would be interested if they were any better than the Pokefami.
Which one were you interested in?

You know what, you're right. I typed it into google.co.jp and got results. Seems to go about 5000 here.

Two Top had it for ~5300. I'm out the door now and will swing by on the way to the station to see if they carry it at the one near me...

I already ordered it off some online shop with the price including chaku-barai about 5500, so probably a bit cheaper factoring time and train fee costs.
Its weird, but I scoped out Akiba yesterday and there was not a single one to be found in any of the retoro game shops.

Yeah, well, you know how those guys are. They sometimes don't carry the most obvious things.
Sofmap seems to be good in general for these sorts of things (Two Top is affiliated with Sofmap). I got my USB Saturn controller there years ago, and they seem to have a good stock of XRGB, FC Twins, and all sorts of modern/retro stuff.
The Two Top at my office didn't have any, but they always have a Famiclone running Gradius to demo their monitors.
