I'm pretty unfamiliar with Game Gear games and recently got a sealed Sonic 2.
Mine has a seam on either side of the box and the hang tab is actually sealed inside.
Not sure if it's legit but I got it super cheap so no big loss.
Curious to see if anyone knows which way the seams run, if there are any, variants, etc.

Thanks.

Hard to imagine anyone faking a Game Gear seal, much less a Sonic 2.

There are well over 9000 sealed Sonic 2 Game Gear games. Its most likely legit. (Yes, "Over 9000" was necessary)

As mentioned, game gear games did indeed come factory sealed, although the quality of the seal was usually very low.

Actually, I would say that it is not original factory sealed, since Game Gear games are sealed the same way as Master System and Genesis games (one seam at bottom with hang tab outside of thick shrinkwrap).

I think it is factory sealed. I remember buying new GG games years ago at TRU and wondering why the hangtab was sealed up.

Well, either way I got it for $3 so it's no big deal. Thanks for the help.
