I'm not sure if this should be in the imports forum or not, but apparently Hammerin' Harry (arcade & NES) is going to return in a new 2D PSP game in Japan later this year. Since Japanese software works on American PSPs, I'd say this one's a no-brainer.

Sadly none of the console releases have ever made it to North American shores :(
I'm more than likely going to import this, but this could be a good title to suggest on being localized by Aksys Games or Atlus. Actually, Atlus has done a couple Irem titles, most recently R-Type Command, so I'd say go register to their forums and beg them to translate this if you're a North American gamer.

Didn't a Hammerin' Harry make it to the US on the B&W Gameboy? Between this and the new Umihara Kawase game, I'm almost tempted to buy a PSP.

I always enjoy the chance to resurrect any of my old threads, but here's a good reason: Hammerin' Harry for PSP is coming to the U.S. as Hammerin' Hero courtesy of Atlus in March 2009! Here's the YouTube link to the trailer:

I discovered on Play magazine's website that the game will be sold at $29.99 MSRP. Still not a bad price.

Yeah, I was happy to hear from Atlus that they're releasing this. As much as I appreciate their RPG releases, I'm glad they're not neglecting other genres. I don't think I'll pick this up at launch, but it's definitely something I'll want to add to my PSP library sooner or later.
Between this and the new Umihara Kawase game, I'm almost tempted to buy a PSP.
There's going to be a new (as I dub it) "Little Girl vs Giant Fish"? Maybe I'll finally get some use out of my PSP.

No, it's merely a port of the PS1 version, albeit very buggy. Last I heard, the game was being tweaked before getting a release date in North America, but since Natsume is the publisher, I doubt much good will come of it.
Well, I never imported Hammerin' Hero, but my wish for Atlus bringing it over came true!
