pippin question

got a pippin rarity question for ya. i recently acquired a black pippin @world.

dp's rarity guide rates the black @world an r6, behind the r7-rated black atmark, also behind the r8-rated katz media pippin.

my question stems from the pippin entry at marriot_guy's site, videogameconsolelibrary.com

on his pippin page, he lists the black @world as the rarest version.

The original Japanese version (white) is not hard to locate but will still cost you about $200 USD CIB plus around $85 USD shipping from Japan. The same rates, surprisingly, apply for the Japanese Black versions of the ATMARK (some say that these are the unsold units from the USA that have been modified with Japanese labels). The US version, the Bandai @WORLD, will run you quite a few dollars and is the rarest. Expect to spend $300+ USD for a CIB unit, anywhere from $200+ USD for a bare system

so who's right? is it (in order of decreasing rarity):

1) katz pippin
2) bandai atmark (black)
3) bandai @world (black)
4) bandai atmark (white)

or is it:

1) katz pippin
2) bandai @world (black)
3) bandai atmark (black)
4) bandai atmark (white)


and again, just for shits and giggles i have to gloat about how much i paid for the pippin: $18 shipped.

Your second list is correct. Katz Media sold less than 1,000 units. There are around 8,000 units of the @world in the USA. The Us Console is actually more like R8-9 than a R6.
