Take a look at this auction:

How much is it worth?

Very interesting. I don't know what to make of it. I'd like to see other users ring in on it to get more info on this. There's just a couple of suspicious things I recognized about the auction since I know Zelda is used a lot to bait people into buying switched chipsets (I've actually seen some personally at a store I worked at). Not a bad find, though, if it is legit.

I found one at a flea market for $2 last summer, half the label was missing and I got $250 plus a complete mint Super Mario RPG with guide for it.

Last one sold for $420 or so? I have seen it sell for as high as $600 though

Seriously it's worth that much?

T_T I have some cousins that lived in New Haven. They had two... they broke them and threw them out...

WHY?! WHY?!

The highest I saw was $300 or so, but yeah, they are legit and rare. What he says about them only being given to Nintendo Service Centers is true.

Oddly enough, I have never seen one with a nice label. Most of them seem to be coming off, and the ones that are still adhered are ripped to shreds. I guess that's because they were transported and used a lot more often than normal carts.

That's good it's legit then. I just get hesitant with Zelda carts after a number of people tried cartswap selling me them at a store I used to work at. I would be pissed if I bought a Zelda game, took it home and when I turned on the system, the Super Mario/Duck Hunt selection popped up. Funny enough, the one someone tried to pawn that had Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! in it amused me so much I bought it at a reduced price because I didn't own the game at the time.

It's definitely legit, and it's one of the more sought after test carts for the NES (the most sought after, IMO, is the elusive Duck Hunt test cart). The last one sold for $500 a few months ago to a member of NintendoAge.

Here's more test cart info:
