Platinum Games is the new company formed from the ashes of Clover Studio (Viewtiful Joe, God Hand, Okami). They've now shown three games in development:

When people run in circles it's a very very... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbg6-yLgy_Y&e)

MadWorld is a Wii-exclusive action game with lots of style and lots of violence. Appears a little similar to No More Heroes, but I'm sure it will be quite different. I love the Sin City style graphics and the Quentin Tarantino style violence. Set for Q1 2009. Looks amazing.

Shoot to thrill? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qD62SZwhP1M)

Bayonetta is an over-the-top action game for PS3 and 360, directed by the creator of Devil May Cry. You play as a witch who has guns on her hands and feet, and fight angels. It kind of reminds me of Blood Will Tell for some reason. This game will come out sometime in 2009, and also looks amazing.

Space Oddity (http://ds.ign.com/articles/874/874179p1.html)

Infinite Line is a sci-fi RPG for DS, based on Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke. You command a spaceship in an open galaxy. Actually, two galaxies. It seems it will have lots of exploring and ship battles. It sounds similar to classic space games such as Starflight, Frontier, and Star Control. Except supposedly with a deep, philosophical plot. Sounds very interesting. Sometime in 2009.

All three of these games look great. Platinum Games is really showing a lot of promise.

omg. Mad World looks awesome!

YAY HEART RIPPING AND FACE IMAPLING!

Bayonetta: Holy Shiznik. Looks like FUNNNNNN :D

Infinite Line: The ship in the in-game screen shot reminds me of a ship from Halo... that certain ship...

Other than that, looks cool.

It's good to know these guys are still making games.

ETA: Because I didn't notice the second page.

Very cool to know they're still out there making games.

I still don't get the 'Childhood's End' stuff. What they say they're taking sound more like Sci-Fi 101 than a story about the end of humanity as we know it. It still sounds interesting.

Face impaling! Am I the only one that thinks a face impaling game for the Wii is awesome?

Yes, I do believe that you're alone on the face-impaling bit.

There is a fourth game as well, but all we know is that it is being made by Shinji Mikami:

...Horrible name for their company. I thought you were talking about the Xbox line of discounted games. I have at least one iteration of every title they put out so I'll follow them to "Platinum Games" and just buy whatever they put out.

Curse them, I held off on No More Heroes because of the tons of other games to play, and just as I think about selling my 2nd Wii (which was a waste of money with my taste) I see this awesome blood fest of a game.

The other one looks cool too.

Amen.

Okami and Viewtiful Joe were some of the most fun I had last console generation.

Play Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 for Gamecube and PS2. They're excellent.

I haven't played any of the spinoffs of the VJ games and I wasn't too concerned with those because I figured those were cash in games anyway. If the did a VJ 3 then I'll be right there.
