So I got my second 360 from goodwill a couple days ago. But unlike my first one that I paid 39.99 for that worked perfectly, this one has the 4rrod. Good thing this one was only 29.99 plus my 25% birthday month discount for $22.49.

So according to all the info I can find on the web, the 4rrod means there is a problem with the video cables, not the usual overheating/xclamp failure with the 3rrod. I am using the cables from my other 360 that work great with it. Anybody else dealt with this problem? It's easy to find info on replacing the xclamp on the web, but I havn't found much on this problem.

I still remember the first time it happened to me and what I said, "No don't die on me now you son of a bitch! Halo 3 comes out next month!"This has happened to me twice, usually when I have unplugged my 360 and not put the cables back in correctly. Try taking out the cables for a little while and then plugging everything back in.If that fails, try some of the online tips.

I had once the 4 red lights from a broken video connector. I found when I opened up the console the video connector could freely move back and forth. A little soldier and it was good as new.

Just an idea.

4 rings is a disconnected video cable. Someone probably damaged the connector on the motherboard.

Yeah, i suspected the video connection on the motherboard. Have any of you opened up your 360 without one of those special tools like they use on llama.com. I was wondering how hard it is without it. I was going to order one, but i don't want to wait that long to tear it open.

No you just need a flat head screw driver that is small enough to fit in the slots in the back of the xbox.

Cool, thanks. I'm gonna try getting it open today after work.
