I'm waiting for a "MG4 is coming to 360". LOL But then again, I'm not hyped about MG4.
But back to the topic, I got it for 360 so I guess this news doesn't really matter much for me.

As great of a game as it was, I'm not going to play through it again.
...now...if it has online multiplayer...with PLASMID BEES count me the hell IN!
I want nothing more than to shout "IM COVERED IN BEEEES!!" in a British accent while playing an online multiplayer FPS and have it actually make some type of sense.

I hope they don't add multiplayer to Bioshock, it's something that in my opinion would be extremely flawed.
I appreciate when a developer realizes that a strong singleplayer is enough for their game and that they shouldn't throw in a half assed multiplayer, something that is all too common now. The Darkness and Prey being two good examples.
I just got back into playing Bioshock, its a game that is enjoyable for it's atmosphere and story line, it doesn't seem like it would translate well to a multiplayer experience.

Great news for those who do not own a 360 or PC worth running it on. I really wanted to play Bioshock, it will be a release day purchase for me.

Good. The more people that get to experience the game, is fine by me.
Console-specific games are goofy unless it's first party anyways.

I agree, but at the same time, there are those of us who have it and have enjoyed it for well over a year now.
If they're going to double-dip, it really should have something extra. (*EDIT* Of course I don't THINK that they'll add it, but IF they did ...)
Considering that the game is already a masterpiece by modern FPS adventure game standards, and that it's already built from the ground up ... they wouldn't have to make the dev cycle for a mutliplayer component be such a headache ... best case scenario, it gives people who enjoyed the game on one platform a potential reason to pick it up on the PS3 (and further fund the budget of the sequel) as well as play online in the Bioshock universe I mean, come on, can you imagine an online mode where you get the Big Daddy Suit and demolish all the other combatants?
... Worst case scenario, online mode sucks and people who buy it on PS3 just enjoy the single player mode, which as we all know, is a wonderful experience.

They aren't going to add multiplayer. The game isn't designed for it, the characters are too slow and the weapons aren't balanced for a fast paced FPS. There's a huge cost for adding multiplayer to a game at this late in development, and if it's not going to be a huge selling point, it's not worth the cost. Besides, adding multiplayer to the U3 engine is non-trivial.
That being said, this shouldn't really come as a suprise. There's references to the PS3 codebase inside the PC and 360 versions. I'm glad more people will have a chance to play it, Irratioinal made a pretty kick ass title.

Not that I disagree with you, they probably won't add mutliplayer, HOWEVER ... you describe some of the obvious reasons why they shouldn't add multiplayer to an FPS game like Bioshock as if a hundred other companies haven't added mutliplayer modes to similar FPS games that clearly weren't "designed" for it.
