import lots from usa by boat/surface mail

is it possible to ship allot of items from the usa to europa by boat/surface mail?.I import from japan also (20kg) of goods by boat.And its a great save on shippingcost .I cant find information on usps about international surface/boat mail.Only airmail is offered.

Most of the companies like USPS and UPS don't offer ocean shipment for overseas delivery. Their focus is more on speed.

There are several ways to get a shipment by ocean. You can contact your local port and find out about the shipping companies/delivery times. You could also contact any cruise lines that go to your area, as they usually have a certain amount of room they dedicate to shipping.

UPS does offer special 10kg and 25kg boxes. So you may want to check with them and compare it to the rates that you get. You may end up paying only a little more to receive your items quicker. Of course, the choice is up to you.
