Well, I just bought a Nintendo DS Lite from USA, and obviously the 110V AC Adapter that comes with it don't work here in Norway, so I'm wondering if a normal DS recharger bought in Norway would work?
Thinking of buying this one;

I know most of you (probably none) can't read norwegian, but there isn't really any info on the site that could be of some help anyway.
Oh, and could anyone recommend any good games for me? I bought Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and The World Ends With You along with the DS.
Not sure about the adapter portion of your question, but some games I really enjoyed include:
Hotel Dusk (my personal favorite)
New Super Mario Bros.
Final Fantasy III
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Contact
Pokemon Diamond
Mario Kart DS
Yoshi's Island DS
Lunar Knights
Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Ninja Gaiden DS

You could also get one of those USB chargers from a site like dealextreme.com - they work well enough.

I have both Castlevania DS games for sale. Dawn of Sorrow is the first release and Portrait of Ruin is still sealed. I will ship to Norway as well.
Let me know!
Thanks,

Yeah a DS lite adapter from Norway will be fine. Just don't get a DS charger (different adapter!).

I bought an USB charger from dealextreme for under $2. Saved me $28!
I'm strongly considering buying Professor Layton and the Curious Village, Lunar Knights, and Ninja Gaiden DS. The Castlevania games are also considered so I might take you up on your offer, ckendal.
Other than that, I can't wait 'till Dragon Quest IV is getting released in... 3 months! :bawling:

I'd recoment the Castlevania games over Lunar Knights. Also, if your into RPGs Etrian Odyssey is extremly good as well.

Arf, I just heard from a friend that it takes approx. 30 hours to charge a flat battery to full with a USB charger. Back to square one, then.
Would this one work? http://www.papyrus.no/PartDetail.aspx?q=p:1039158%3bc:36197%3br:pg
I can't see any input to the power-thing to put it in the wall, though.
Will definitely check out Etrian Odyssey.

I like how half the posts in this thread are just posts people wanted to make and have nothing whatsoever to do with the topic at hand. Yeah I like Contra 4 ~
Anyway, my DS doesn't take 30 hours to charge, nor should it ever. This was true of some previous battery types, but doesn't apply to lithium-ion batteries.
I'm not sure how the different voltage in Europe would affect the charge time.
Quick Lithium-ion battery tips (applies to all devices using a Li-Ion battery):
- When not in use, keep the battery at 40% (unfortunately there isn't a way to check this on the DS, at least not that I know of) to prevent stress
- Keep the device cool to keep the battery cool - don't truck it around in your front pants pocket if you can put the DS anywhere but on the dashboard of a hot car :)

Thanks for your input, Ed. My friend told me that it takes 30 hours because the PC generates much less power than a normal power-input in the wall. This was with a PSP, though, but he told me that the battery types in PSP and DS should be the same. Of course, he might be wrong.
The 110V from USA doesn't work in Europe, hence why I'm trying to figure out what to buy.

Ah, I see what he means now.
It depends on the USB port and power supply, really. I think some cheap-o commodity PCs won't give much current through the USB ports, ditto for self-built PCs with cheap power supplies.
You can always go that route, but you'll need a cable to do it all the same - might not be much more expensive to get a different power supply for the mains.

Well, an USB charger costs $2, and this http://www.papyrus.no/PartDetail.aspx?q=p:1039158 which is a charger to stick in the wall, costs about $20.

By the way, is there any chance that a european charger won't work AT ALL or even damage an american DS Lite? I can get a brand new original charger (I believe those I linked to earlier are unofficial chargers) for a ncie price, so I think I'm going for it.

Charging up my DS from USB does take longer, but definitely not 30 hours. Maybe it takes 5 or 6 hours compared to about 3 or 4 when I use the wall adapter.
But anyway, no, there's no chance that using a European wall adapter with a U.S. DS will cause a problem (as long as the wall adapter isn't defective, obviously!). Both the U.S. and European adapters have the exact same power output (5.2VDC 450mA is what my search comes up with, but I don't have my adapter here with me to compare...that's an odd rating and might explain why USB takes a little longer). This is the whole point of an external AC-DC adapter, they will output a standardized DC level though different ones can be used in different regions to account for different AC mains power.
...word is bondage...

Mystery solved then, I bought an official european DS Lite charger from Nintendo and one USB to use in my car, vacations and the likes.
Thanks ALOT for all the helpful replies!
