This was such an innovative game. I remember when it first came out... I had it on the Genesis. Nothing like playing a game about a kid who gets sucked into an arcade machine. I foolishly got rid of it back in the day... my how we learn from our mistakes.

Please, add your two cents on this Genesis classic.

I always liked the game, but I thought it was too hard. I haven't played it in years though.

Agreed.

Fantastic game, imaginative, with lots of goodies. I invested many hours in it with a buddy of mine back when it was first released. But man, does that sucker get hard! I never did bother trying to finish it, either.

I was my very first Genny game. Man did I love it. I picked up a complete copy recently, try to owe my sucking at the game being that I was young and the game wasn't that hard. Turns out I was wrong. It really is that hard.

I forgot all about that game. My brother had that when we were kids. Unfortunately he got rid of his genesis and sega cd a couple of years before I started collecting. The good thing is my friend is the one that bought it off of him... maybe I can borrow it sometime... I just have to get an ac power adaptor for my genesis 2 and av cable...

I thought the game was so fun. Changing to all those different things to get through the levels. I could never beat it back then, but maybe I can beat it now.

Here's an interesting little tidbit. After you beat the game you're treated to a screen with pictures of all the programmers on it. If you look closely you'll notice that Steve Woita (Taz, Quadrun, Garfield) is sitting at a desk with his back turned to the screen. I asked him about this and he said that they didn't have a picture of him at the time so they just put him with his back turned. I thought that was pretty funny.

It's a good game, but not great one by my standards.

I wouldn't say it's very hard personally, despote it's rep, it's just too damn LONG. I tend to get bored with the gameplay before I beat it, same problem the frst 2 Sonic games had...

I always got the impression that Kid Chameleon was designed as the Genesis alternative to Super Mario Bros. 3. There were tons of rounds, tons of abilities, and an emphasis on level design that you couldn't find in the Sonic games. I didn't care for it, though. It was dark, grungy, and depressing, and the lack of a password feature was inexcusable for a game that long.
