Holy shit, I honestly never thought I'd see the day. There's a link to the (obviously CG) trailer here. (http://gamersyde.com/news_6556_en.html)
Now all we need is a Shenmue III confirmation.

i never got what people saw in the original.

granted, i never finished it, but that speaks volumes in itself. i liked the first few hours and really enjoyed the photography element , but after the frustrating stealth sections kept dragging on and on (and on) i abandoned the game.

Man, there was something magical about that game! It had so many great gameplay elements mixed together.

Like anything great, some people will never understand it.

I hope he finishes it off this time. He may not get another shot.

Wow, I never thought this would happen. The first part was a really good game, and after that ending, it would have been too cruel not to make a sequel after all.

Well, that was ... even more worthless than your average teaser.

HELL yes. Finally a sequel from Ubisoft I can get excited about. :)

I had owned the original and never saw what everyone loved about it. However, I am glad that it's getting a sequel, since I feel it at least deserved one. I would rather have an Eternal Darkness 2 tho and this just proves never say never.

Hell. Fucking. Yeah.

When I first heard about Beyond Good & Evil's sales numbers, I was pissed off, especially with that cliffhanger ending. Beyond Good & Evil is one of the few games I can think of that truly deserve a sequel.

I can't even remember the cliffhanger ending of the first game, but I was practically screaming when I first saw the headline today. BG&E was so fantastic and I don't even remember why. That's how great the first game is. Go play it again doubters!

I do not know when this game will come out.

I do not know what system this game will be released for.

I do not know the estimated retail price.

But I WILL pick it up on release day. I WILL pay whatever the price. And I WILL buy a system to play it on, if I do not already own it. This is AWESOME news. My favorite game next-gen game.

Great game and it definitely deserved a sequel. I just hope they haven't changed the art style too much. But either way I'm sure it'll be great.

This is beyond good (& evil LOL) news! Hopefully, the sequel will also be released on multiple platforms.

Nebagram

'Kipedia's giving Xbox 360 and PS3 as the release platforms though to be fair I don't know where they get that particular source from- or of course, if they bothered with a source at all.

I would like to see it on Wii(as it is the only new system I currently have and can't afford to buy another)

I also heard that the gamecube was the best version idk!

(I have to admit that I haven't finished the first game - gotta do that soon.)

I dug the original game and even had a slight crush on Jade, if that's even possible.

Do we know if Michael Ancel is actually involved with this game?

Ruffie

This sort of announcement only comes about once a generation.

Other games, I get a little bit excited about. Beyond Good and Evil was so good (yet so brief) that, like another poster said, I will play it on whatever platform it comes out on, at any price.

I wonder if Ubisoft really knows how highly anticipated this game is to many of us gamers.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Beyond Good and Evil was the best things since Geomon. This is the reason why BG&E is such a great game first to begin.

I would like to see it on Wii

The problem there needs to be enough users who want to buy the game. People like me who does not own a Wii only chance is a GCN. The X-box owners will have to deal with issues like 1. Is the original game compadable with the 360 and so forth.

The next problem is the PS3 release. I beleive this should be handled as a revamped release. Just remember I went crazy in another topic over this.

I just hope they haven't changed the art style too much.

That is not a style that is realistic representation with big heads and small bodies. Simular to children books we have read in the past. In terms of the presentation I say we all e-mail and bug ubsoft to make this a GCN nintendo only release.

Think about it. Most people who played the game was in there 40's. Children is going to be playing Mario, Sonic, and all the other commercial games. So why should we have to suffer and buy another waste of cash. I will buy this game new if it comes out on the GCN first and the next game also.

He may not get another shot.

That is a lie. If they do release it the children the life draining wallet vampire children is not going to even want this unless there is some sorta Bonkers Cartoon in releation to it

http://www.bonkers-online.com/clips/bonkers91.jpg

Then the fact they almost turn this game into that X-box Chinese RPG ( which was okay but rather sooked in that department ) that is big thing to look for.
That image with Jade ( in lesser polygons ) but with a Chinese umbrella is quite scary.

Hell. Fucking. Yeah.

Could say that again brothea

Doh! Yeah.
Merge this thread if you have to.

i never got what people saw in the original.

I have a list somewhere else.

1. The game was short and sweet but you do so much without even knowing.
2. It is like something you can pick up over and over again. Unlike most games that extend gameplay and put you in fake situations ( Jetforce Gemeni, Banjo, DKC, and even Geomon ) this game has basic actions and is repeatively enjoyable dew to the time limit.
3. Again while small it is like watching a movie and unlike Resident Evil ( has that commercial gimmick replay value ) with lines such as..

"Darn that Optinum"

4. It is in a world simular to ours but while being cutoff makes usage of it' suroundings. Like Zelda OOT had many places to go.

5. You used startigict fighting in most cases and the bosses is not fake or super releastic. It is super-deformed ( like the Incredibles ) and makes usage of American art.

6. On top of that is appealing to

Native Americans
Spanish Culture.
Asians.

Without breaking that limit.

7. It is in a Future Perfect World ( like Space2000, Aeon Flux, those 1960's space movies with romans talking about sex ) and is does not push that button like for example.

8. Manimal people is just regular people but show there animal personality like the Shark or even the Rino's and Pig............

8. The gaurds is Roman gaurds but is like futuristic gaurds.

9. The Maddame President who fix a meeting somehow does which would be impossible along with the other spy games theatrics like the TAXI.

10. The world is vast and big enough along with okay AI's rather then AI's who just stand around and do nothing like in most RPG games.

11. The big bad guy is incomplete ( which is kinda funny )

12. The last battle while not being difficult reaches a difficult on a 2D game scale while not being too difficult is realisticly possible with the enemy doing a motion blur effect while the controls are reversed ( which is what occured in the end of Zelda : Majoras Mask. )

13. The game could pass for realistic Anime on a scale in terms of Ameri-Anime or even American art being that of Anime realism.

14. It was loved by people who is in the grey years and smells of SEGA.

15. The overall presentation was a pleaseant exprience and could be compared to the Present Day Animations ( Like A-ko )

16. Most important it is a piece of Americana gaming that is not commercial and does it own thing!

This game takes us out of the dark ages of Starwars or Ninja-O with ) god forbid ) commercial themes and soundbites. Personally playing this game matches up with Heavy Metal series. The sad part would be if this game wented commercial.

17. The game has high replayability since the content is just fun and no real beserk challenge that of Sonic-R, Burning Rangers, Super Mario Land, Bomberman N64, and others alike that gives off a feel good effect without even trying.

Take Jetyset radio for example. The game was just pure fun but then a Amerikan guy made a game where people just sprayed painted on trains.

Jetset Radio gave us the fun part of this while making it cool and redoable over and over again.

While this other game ( staring the same Ish oragened haired beer drinking useless from Thos video adventure games and even the recent giest ) had you commiting crimes. Jetset radio you knew it was wrong but you did umber cool if you get my drift.

BG&E was off the hook and you was a photgrapher and fighting was a mistake at most times. It was like playing the Romancing Stone or Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones

Maybe this is the reason why they are promoting the game now?????

AWESOME AWESOME news!!

As for what made it great? It's a near-perfect blend of multiple genres & playstyles, and succeeded brilliantly in creating an entire living, believable word.

Gotta admit though, that's the lamest teaser I've ever seen.

It deserves a revisit, though, I was a little more than certain that it would never happen. Thankfully, I'm not right all the time. :p That said, Wii release please. I'm not quite ready to commit to a second box yet and when I am ready I don't know when or which it will be. Ubi has been full of Wii-love so, I don't see why not. They need something other than Red Steel and the Rabbids.

No kid is going to play this game and be like WOW at all. Only by mistake not even by gift a kid will get this since most store employees will direct people to ABC 123 when somebody can't find the Kingdom Hearts.

This needs to be on the GCN but playable on the Wii. Like Shantae was a gbc game but has extra graphics on the GBA. Maybe an alternative play mode?

Shantae actually doesn't have extra graphics on the GBA. "GBA mode" just alters the palette somewhat because the colors look slightly different on a GBA emulating a GBC rather than a real GBC. There aren't any enhancements, just minor corrections to make it look identical on a GBC and GBA.

Anyways, I played Beyond Good & Evil for about 15 minutes, didn't see what the big deal was, and put it back on the shelf. One of these days I need to go back and give it another try.
