Does anybody have a list of games on either or both of these collections? I have vol.1 on Saturn and I am assuming that it is the same as the PSX version.

Thanks! I actually just realised that the saturn version is actually a "ultimate" version with the whole psx 1-3 on one disc, cool!

Konami MSX Antiques for the Saturn was my first import title. At OVGE one year, Vintage Stock was selling an ST-Key cartridge for the Saturn for $15, or the ST-Key with four bundled games for $20. That's the one I picked, mainly for the MSX Antiques (The other games was that terrible Shinobi game, some soccer game I never unwrapped, and some forgettable fighting game). Considering the MSX used what was essentially the same graphics chip as the TI-99/4A, it's pretty impressive what they could do with the machine. I wish Gradius had come out on the TI! Or Antarctic Adventure.

Wow, that looks like a nice set of games. I wonder how the two systems' versions really compare. If the port quality is the dame between both of them, but the Saturn one is just the 3 PSX games compliled (with no games missing), it is definitely the way to go.
I passed on this game in an EB (on recommendation from the staff... what was I thinking? Then again, I wasn't as into pre-NES gaming back then.), back when they started selling Saturn imports at the end of the system's life. I may have to check it out now. I don't believe it is all that expensive. I enjoy playing MSX games on my XBox, but like to own games rather than just have loads of ROMs.
To digress a bit, I still can't believe I got X-Men vs. SF and Dracula X at an EB. If only I hadn't passed on the Radiant Silvergun! I went back for it, but it was too late. I had also passed on the wrestling game with Jeffry from Virtua Fighter too, but I have no regrets there. Sorry to derail.

That's excellent news since that's the one I have. :D I've yet to try it since I still need to acquire one of those Action Replay carts.

I got mine recently off ebay for around $10, which is unusual since I've seen them sell for $60 and over. I guess it just depends.

Man, that has to be painful. I would love to come across that in the wild. There's no way I can ever cough up $100+ for it online.

That was a cool wrestling game that had some type of xray flash of broken bones when you pulled off a great move.

Yeah, the Saturn Konami Antiques is my favorite import Saturn game. I remember getting it complete for $4.99 along with a sealed copy of Wachenroder for the same price at an independently owned game shop, then trading Wachenroder with someone on DP to acquire Midway Vol. 2 for the Dreamcast. I should have kept Wachenroder, but I didn't actually own a Saturn at the time.
My main issue with the Saturn version is that it only loads one MSX game at a time, so if you want to start another game, you have to reset the game at the title screen. Sucks if you are trying to use an Action Replay.
The conversions are actually pretty good considering the limitations of the MSX. I enjoy Road Fighter, Time Pilot and the Gradius titles.

I love those collections too. One thing I wanted to add as it may have passed under a couple of classic-gamer's radars... is to check out Metal Gear: Subsistence for the ps2. On Disc 2 it has localized copies of Metal Gear 1 & 2 for the MSX.
Worth checking out if you're so inclined :)

Agreed, it's worth it just to be amused at how Metal Gear 2's script is just as effective as Metal Gear Solid's, but at 1/50th the word count.
