Xbox Live Arcade title Mad Tracks (http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Mad%20Tracks) scored a 63 on Metacritic (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/madtracks?q=mad%20tracks) and has been out for exactly one year, which makes it a candidate for potential delisting (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/26/download-now-or-forever-hold-your-points-potential-delisted-xb/), but the developer isn't worried. In an interview with X3F (http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/05/29/x3f-interview-load-inc-s-denis-bourdain/), Load Inc. Business Developer Denis Bourdain said they're not worried about it.

"It was news to us," said Bourdain, later adding, "our conversion rate is much higher than 6%, but Microsoft remains the only one calling the shots. They could delist Mad Tracks - or decide to keep it." He also noted that they were making PC games prior to XBLA and that, "you get removed without notice after 6 months in most stores."

Bourdain also talks about the potential of developing for PSN, his feelings on the Wii, and their upcoming XBLA title Things on Wheels (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/31/load-inc-creating-another-xbla-toy-racer-in-things-on-wheels/). This whole "De-listing" ordeal frightens me alot, especially as a retro gamer.

Most of the titles from my youth are on that list, because for some reason, the younger generation of gamers could care less about the old arcade titles.

It honestly frightens me that younger gamers are totally unappreciative of their roots, and seem to forget that alot of people in their 30's and 40's still play video games, too. And a good percentage of them still love and appreciate the games of their youth.

I'm worried this will scare off developers to release older arcade titles, in the future. And I think this is an extremely stupid move on MS's part.

What would probably be best for everyone - and I imagine this is how the 'delisting' will eventually work itself out - is that the stuff to be delisted just gets its own subcategory that you have to dig a little deeper to find. That said, I do find it discouraging that a game like Time Pilot is up for consideration to be among the delisted.

I dont see how MS could just inventory the downloadable games by year....06, 07, 08 and have a current more vibrant list for new games. That way the newly released games get the advertising, and the older games are still available. Its not like these games are taking alot of bandwith of space. The other thing that I would like to see is a possible compliation disc of all delisted games that could be available at retial. I know that it will never happen, but one can dream I guess.
