im trying to remember a computer game i used to play long ago and mabey you guys can help me think of the name. its a turn based alien hunter kind of game. at the begining you pick any place on the earth as your base and you buy supplies,soldiers,aircraft,guns,ect...then spaceships "attack" or fly around and you chase them and kill them or make them crash. if they crash or land you send a team out to kill the aliens that landed. its turn based and the objective of the land battle is to kill all aliens.
you usually end up in a small town running around looking for there spaceship. most of the aliens are grey and have that 1950's raindrop head and then later in the game you meet bigger and stronger aliens. as the game goes on you get better stuff and somtimes capture an alien. its probably over 10 years old and i remember so much about the game just not the name...HELP ME!

I never played it, but is this one of the X-Com games, maybe?

Absolutely my first thought too! Such a great game, I remember this was the first sweet deal I ever got on a Playstation game. Like an idiot, years later I sold it to Gamestop for nickels and dimes. Now it's worth like $60... I do still have the sealed X-Com collection for PC however..

So yeah, I second that

X-com one of the best games ever made. There is a new "version" here

You might also like Syndicate, which was released for various computer systems and some home consoles (SNES for sure, maybe Genesis or Sega CD as well).
