View Full Version : What is your best ranking/record on a game?

Searched for a thread like this but couldn't find one (though I'm sure there is one).

With game rankings becoming fairly ubiquitous since 2002 and the advent of Xbox Live how high are you ranked on your favorite games? As an old high-score fiend I love games where I can polish scores and lap times offline and instantly compare how I am doing with others.

Here are my proudest moments so far:

Flatout: Ultimate Carnage (Xbox 360) - Currently ranked #21 overall in carnage mode of almost 90k ranked players.

Burnout 2: Developer's Cut (Xbox) - peaked at #29 overall.

Amped 2 (Xbox) - peaked at #41.

Nanostray (NDS) - peaked at #50

Klax (Midway Arcade Treasures - Xbox) - #1

I was also the record holder for the Amiga game Xenon 2: Megablast in British magazine CVG for a couple of issues in 88 or 89 :)

With that said, on Guitar Hero 2 (360) I am ranked just a shade under 1-millionth place....

My only problem with these rankings is that I feel less motivated now to play games that do not have rankings.

Back when I played Top Spin, my highest ranking on Live was #31 for men's singles. And on Pinball Hall Of Fame (Gotlieb), I had the #1 score on 3 or 4 tables for a while.

I cracked 1,000 on Guitar Hero II Career mode (got in the low 700's), but I stopped playing for a while and now I'm not even anywhere close to that.

I have some scores over at the Shmups forums, I'm only really competitive in caravan games though.

At one time it seemed that I had one of the highest times for Survival mode in Crimson Land, back around '03 or so, although they were pumping out new revisions of the game consistently at that time.

Well, I got in the top 100 on Asteroids Throttle Monkey mode.

#26 on Discs of Tron
#108 on Tron
#5 on 3 different tracks on Forza 2.

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I once managed 100th on total kudos on Metropolis Street Racer, and I was an early pace-setter on the Space Giraffe leaderboards, but have well and truly slipped now.

I was in the top 100 in Gripshift for a while on XBLA for a while but I stopped playing. Seriously it's hardly an accomplishment since NO one played that game for some reason.

In arcades, I can achieve high-ish scores in DDR 1st mix (Other mixes usually have insanely high scores, 1st mix songs are easy so if I keep at it, I'll get my S and SSs) and Golden Tee.

I love Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and just started recently online gaming.

I managed to get in the Time Trial mode to rank 7 in the global ranking for the Suzuka circuit with the Lotus 111 R (standard physics), and to rank 23 with the Honda NSX R O2 for Suzuka (standard physics, Time Trial).

Europeans and Japanese gamers are ranked higher, but at least I'm the best from the US region.

Others I didn't try out yet; GT is just unsurpassed when it comes to control, the feel for speed, rich gameplay, and gorgeous graphics. One class better than any other realistic racing game.
