40Gb PS3 basically $299 at Wal Mart through 6/07/08

Yup...just went and picked up one tonight. If you get a 40Gb before now and June 7th you get a $100 gift card for free. Long story short now matter how you look at it, you're getting the unit for $299. You can't use the card towards the purchase of the unit but it's good for anything else in the store (ad says "blu Ray" gift card but that's not the case). I'm using my card for groceries tomorrow so it all comes out in the wash.

Not a bad deal and you don't have to apply for that damn Sony Card to get the $100 off.

Who would of thought at this point in the PS3's life we would see a frenzy for a system bundle. Amazon sold out of pre-orders in something like 8 minutes and people will be lining up early at various store to get it on release day.

I might go and pick up the MGS4 bundle. I already have 100 in gift cards so I'll get the bundle for $400 and still keep my cards :)
