I'm having a heck of a time finding someone to service my machine, an Atari Black Widow color vector. It worked well at one point, then it started flaking out after 15 minutes of play, now the screen doesn't come up but I can still hear the sound.

Anyone? Located in Ellicott City, MD. Willing to pay a few $$ and throw in a six pack of something good.

Know how to solder? It sounds like you need to rebuild your monitor, especially if its stock. Most likely, your low voltage section went bye bye, taking out a number of diodes and chassis-mount transistors with it. Typical for these monitors. The parts are around $50 (including a LV2000 low voltage replacement board) if I recall correctly, and it'll bulletproof your monitor from these burnouts in the future.

Is the red light on the monitor's deflection board on? That's the spot killer LED and definitely indicates trouble.
