I am on the first stage of batman forever on gameboy. I can not figure out where to go. I walk along and kill 2 guys. and then the board just stops. Where are you suppose to go?

I'm pretty sure that's as far as the programmers got with that game ...

... most people turned it off after they killed the 1st guy.

Congratulations, you reached the Gameboy Batman Forever kill screen!!

Pretty sure he was kidding.
I'm Batman.

Dang, this thread is already #4 on the 'nets, and GameFAQs doesn't have any good information about this aside from a dumb review which missed the before-level cutscene.

I think that's a door at the end of the first level.

There appear to be a good number of moves here: Punch combos (useful!), kicks (both waist-level and roundhouse), jump punches and kicks, foot sweep kick (useful!) with a variation for when you're looking the other way, glide, and select puts up the cape to protect a bit from damage. Holding select and then pushing Punch gives an interesting combo - bats seems to flatten himself against the far wall. Both potted plants in the area can be destroyed.

I still can't get through that door though.

I was able somehow to get Batman to toss something at the end of a jump, but try as I may I can't duplicate the move. I don't see any manual scans online, so until somebody does it looks like we're SOL.

There has to be more. that guy showed more in his video. Don't get me wrong, I know it's a bad game. I just want to know how to advance because it's really annoying me I can't figure it out. There has to be a way.

Hmm, found yet more moves (opposite direction poke and kick, you get these by tapping the opposite direction quickly before hitting punch or kick), but the door still mocks us... :(

Man, the hilariously complex moveset is completely useless for the most part since enemies will always attack you when you're in range. I can't imagine ever getting into a position when those behind-the-back attacks would be useful; jumping over an enemy would be needlessly dangerous and difficult when you could instead plant a jump kick in their forehead.

Wow. I thought the SNES and Genesis versions of Batman Forever were pretty bad, but this looks like one of the worst Game Boy games out there.

You need to jump up to the floor above. At least, thats what you do in the Game Gear version.

you need to switch the game off. Its just better this way, it reduces carbon emissions by 25%. it would please the PMs and Thom Yorke.

I too failed to defeat this "door" enemy you speak of. This is a lot harder than Hong Kong 97...

This makes no sense.

In the SNES version, you had to press Up plus some button to activate a grappling hook and go to the second story of the room, beat up the bad guys up there, then drop down and go through the door. But I can't figure out HOW to activate the grappling hook here!

I can't freakin' believe this!

Edit:
Ah-HA! I figured it out! Press Down then Up quickly and Bats will jump towards the upper floor. Beat up two bad guys, rescue two hostages, then press down twice to drop down. The door will open.

What did you expect? This is a PROBE game, those guys really churned out some crap by the bucketload...
