Wow. (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3168056) Sounds like he got the shaft, from what he's saying. I wonder what company he'll end up with next?

Ok but doesn't Tecmo technically "own" DOA and Ninja Gaiden? Can Tecmo still carry on those games without Itagaki?

This is crazy. I figured Itagaki would be making DOA until the end of time since he's always talked about it like it was his baby. I suppose a competing publisher like Namco or Capcom would take him aboard. Hell, maybe Midway should make him an offer if the guy likes violence so much. LOL

Tecmo can do whatever it wants with DOA and Ninja Gaiden. Itagaki had no stake in the properties themselves unless there was some joint ownership thing going on (which is incredibly unlikely).

unexpected, but kinda makes sense with all the more acerbic shit-talking he's been doing lately.

ms should give him a call. they need an extra rockstar on the payroll.

Wasn't he the one who said the ps3 verison wasn't that good?

Rumor has it that after leaving Tecmo, he plans to join The Ramones.

Holy crap... it's like The Beatles split-up again. Yoko Ono is going to get some nasty hate mail. Face it, it has to be her fault somehow.

Well shit....

So much for Ninja Gaiden 3.

And no, I'm not being sarcastic. I hope MS scoops him up...

Yeah, which I thought was weird, because it's an excellent conversion. I like the PS3 version of Ninja Gaiden quite a bit.

Here's hoping he lands somewhere soon.

Wow. Well I'd imagine he'll be fine but when I think tecmo I think DOA, ninja gaiden and itagaki if I were them I'd be freaking out and trying to get him back etc

So I guess this means no DOAX 3?

Where else will gamers get their giant bikini clad jiggly breast fix?

I get it from your avatar. What is that by the way?

Seems kind of unlikely considering how much he's slagged those companies' games (specifically their fighting games) over the years.

True. But having to eat is probably a little higher on the list than keeping one's pride. Besides, Itagaki has talked so much shit that I'm not sure he even really believes it anymore or controls it. It's like breathing to him where it just happens unconsciously.

I'm not really sure what you "get". I was being facetious, I actually find the DOAX games to be the most hilarious games ever created.

As for my avatar, that is from the show "Excel Saga" and the scene can be found in the final (26th) episode "Going too far".

Shuffled over from Shmups Forum:

Update, Itagaki sets up a camera to find out who's been stealing his money instead of going into all the rooms (http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSCOO06330120080530)

Itagaki delivers, always.

Unfortunately it seems he's delivering unintentional comedy more than games for the foreseeable future now...

THEY MUST DO THIS FOR THE MOST AWESOME MORTAL KOMBAT EVER. FOR GREAT JUSTICE.

Tecmo can do whatever it wants with DOA and Ninja Gaiden.

This is what I worry about. What type of quality will future titles in those series have?

Think they are already working on the official DOA hentai PC game?

Wow. These kinds of lawsuits are very rare in Japan. However, it does make sense that an outspoken raised nail like Itagaki would do such a thing.

And what's this about Wii Rygar? Is there any info on this game yet? Am I just out of the loop?

I hate rock stars who act like rock stars, and I hate other people who act like rock stars even more. It's such a generic look and persona.

Nobody will be there to oversee the coding for the advanced bounce and jiggle algorithms used in the DOA games.

I hope this means we'll finally get a PS3 version of DOA...

Tecmo's stock took a nosedive when Itagaki announced his departure.

Assurances that Team Ninja would remain (largely) intact apparently did not appease the stockholders. Shares dropped over 10% from Tuesday's closing of 1,102 (USD 10.40), to today's closing of 982 (USD 9.30). Not a good start to the company's new Itagaki-less lifestyle, to be sure.

Ouch, indeed...

It seems there's a rumor floating around that some of Team Ninja is following Itagaki's lead.

And even THEY'RE suing Tecmo.

The DOA and Ninja Gaiden series will NOT be the same without Itagaki san. I'm not even sure if Microsoft will be interested in publishing Ninja Gaiden 3 because of Itagaki's departure.

Since more of Tecmo's Team Ninja staff are leaving, I'm sure they will start a new company helmed by Itagaki called Team BANA: Beat A Ninja's Ass.
