I picked up a Phillips CDI 450 from ebay. The seller said it wouldn't power up. So I said hey, I have no projects right now ... so I thought I would give it a shot. I cant seem to find a service manual for it and I'm having troubles locating the +5v lead on the power adapter.
Its missing the power adapter, and I know the plug looks like a CAT5 plug. I was hoping to just make one to test with.
Any ideas what the pinouts are for the power?
Also, does anyone know if there is a inline fuse located on the board some where.
Thanks guys

Honestly, those power supplies are pretty complicated. If you aren't good at electronics then you may want to purchase one from Ebay, I have had dealings with CD-i power supplies and they aren't a ton of fun.

Well I think your right since its a multiple voltage PSU. This is what I have seen on the back of the PSU
TYPE 20 PS 301/00
Accessory Number 22ER9156/00
12NC 022 729 15601
Serv Code Number 822 214 52166
INPUT: 100 - 240V AC 50 - 60 Hz
OUTPUT: +5V DC 3.3A 16,5W MAX
-5V DC 0.25A 2W MAX
I think I will just keep my eyes open for a power supply.
Thanks

Thanks for the info.. The last one you posted is actually from the guy that I got the CDI450 from. He must have parted it out.

Any advances on this? I, at the moment, have no PSU for my 450. I was thinking I could wire one up using some Molex connectors and a CAT5 on a PC power supply. Only certain supplies have the -5v needed, though...
