Anyone got more info on this thing? I was just at the thrift store and I saw a Nintendo flight stick controller with a serial connection cable. At first I thought it was some weird third party knock-off but it had a N64-era "N" block logo on the front of it with "Nintendo" underneath it, so it definitely looked official.

The base was the same dark grey color as a N64 console and the stick was light grey like the N64 controller. On the bottom, it said something like "Lamar Group" and there was a sticker that said "For PC Use Only".

Anyone see these before? I didn't pick it up because it looked like the throttle lever knob was missing and didn't know much else about it. Tried to look for a pic online but couldn't find any.

I saw one at the pawn shop. I was like sweet N64 Joystick then the excitement went down once it said PC only. I have no clue why it was like that.

Are you sure that the serial connector doesn't plug into something else that goes to the N64? I see things like this all the time at thrift shops that are missing pieces(throtles, petals, etc...) and they always seem to have strange plugs to connect to one another.

I havn't really looked the ones for the N64 too closely though so I'm not sure if thats what's going on or not.

jb143, that's what I thought at first. I've got the Ace Combat flight sticks for PS2 and 360 and they're just like that. There's a serial cable that plugs into the throttle lever and then a USB cord that plugs into the system, but I saw the "PC Only" sticker and figured it didn't have anything to do with the N64.

I actually have an issue of PC Gamer that reviews a controller Nintendo made for PCs, so it looks like they did at one point try to break into the PC market.

What year is this? Could you scan it? I'd like to read that :)

They sure weren't very public about it. I wonder what possessed them to do something like that.

I was wondering if maybe it was a development tool. Didn't they code some N64 games on PC's while the system was in development?

Makes sense to me considering the PC titles they had. Mario Teaches Typing, Mario Is Missing, etc. They were pre-N64, I know, but you get my drift.

Are you sure Nintendo made them? Remember that for a while they were licensing their logo to anyone who'd have it, leading to apparent Nintendo radios, calculators, etc, etc. It wouldn't surprise me if someone put the logo on a PC stick.

I found one of those once at a flea market for pretty cheap. Take a look at this thread here (http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=10&threadid=2589&messageid=28381), about 3 or 4 posts in. From what I've gathered, it's quite rare and *very* obscure.
