Hey just got a 360 that I was told had three rings of death. Turns out it is only one ring and the E 74 error code. i know it isn't the cords as I am using my odl system cords. Any ideas or should i just leave it on for a few days and hope for a RROD?

Also got a PSP with a screen broken. Any place that fixes them?

If you're sure your AV cable is OK you may have an issue with the GPU (graphics chip). This isn't usually repairable. Check this thread for descriptions of error codes and possible solutions:

We fix PSP's in the store. If you have a "rainbow" LCD (cracked on the inside) you'll need a new LCD screen which runs between $40 and $50. We charge a flat $35 on top of that for the work. I don't normally do mail-in repairs but I'd be willing to do so for a forum member, PM me if you're out of other options.

Thanks for the help. I'll keep that in mind about the psp. Right now moneys tight after this purchase.

Now about the X-box. This just sucks, I just noticed when i checked it again the fan was blowing in it like it is trying to take off for flight. That's what my other 360 did before it went down for the count RROD so maybe this one will too.

New thing on the X-box. After random periods of time the fan will stop altogether and quit flashing the one red light to still showing power and flashing the other 2 quadrants for the red ring of death.

If thats the new case then call up microsoft and they will repair it for free as long as it has the 3 red lights ( hardware failure).

It does flash them, just not all at the same time. The one light goes for a while, then stops and then it flashes the other two lights until you turn it off.

After an error code triggers, the system only stays on for another 5 minutes or so. I'm guessing it's trying to shut down and encountering another error. System is borked.

If they sold it to you as a 3 ring, and it's only doing one ring, i'd get a refund. Microsoft won't repair it for free unless you can get it to hit 3 rings at once.

If I leave it on for a long while, do you think it will do the real red ring? My other system did it after very little play so just wondering.

Probably not without help. Once it gets a stop error like that, it reduces power to things like the CPU and GPU so it's not likely to go from a 1 light error to a 3 light error without outside assistance.
