Is this possible? (famicom repros?)

I'm the proud new owner of a Famicom! Whee...

Now here's a thought I had, I know a lot of people have done NES repros - mainly of protos that weren't released.

Now that there are translated roms out there - would it be possible to make a translated repro out of a famicom cart of the same game?

My friend recently acquired a EEPRom burner, which is where this whole idea started. Playing english FF games on my famicom would be pretty nuts.

oops, sorry yeah - EPRom burner. At least, I believe that's it, we can do Neo Geo Bios rewrites (I had a spare US bios chip kicking around, don't ask why). If that's an EPRom then we're good.


Either way, I could get the correct burner, I was more thinking because of the translation does it change rom size/files? I don't know how exact you have to be, but since it's putting essentially the same game on the same cart I thought it would be easy.


Another question - if I get this done and working (i.e. make myself english FF2/3 carts) would other people be interested in translated famicom carts?
